Paul praises Oldbrook parking scheme

New parking permit signs

Paul today praised the fantastic success of the new Oldbrook parking scheme. The scheme has been in operation since September and is designed to stop inconsiderate parking in the north of Oldbrook.

Before the scheme was set up, inconsiderate drivers would often park across people's driveways, making it impossible for the local residents. Concerns were even raised about access for emergency vehicles as the streets were filled with parked cars.

The scheme was put in place following a campaign by local residents, councillors and Campbell Park Parish Council. Paul's first act as the new Campbell Park Ward Councillor, was to raise the issue at a meeting of Milton Keynes Council. The scheme was put in place shortly after, and has been an enormous success.

Paul supports Million Meals Appeal

Last Saturday I was happy to help staff at CMK Sainsburys, who were collecting food for FareShare's Million Meals Appeal.

CMK Sainsburys alone collected enough food for 4000 meals and were generous enough to match the donations made by customers, providing 8000 meals for those suffering in deep poverty.

The food donated in CMK Sainsburys went to the Food Bank in Oldbrook, providing much needed help for people suffering from deep poverty here in Milton Keynes.

FareShare nationally collected enough donations to provide a staggering 2 million meals!
